Our Team

The clinic was established 1998 by Jane Dent.

Jane qualified in London from the British School of Osteopathy in 1988, having completed four-year full-time course. She worked in another practice in Whitley Bay before setting up the Whitley Bay Osteopathic Centre.

Having attended school in Durham, Jane wanted to bring her skills back to the North East. All of the training colleges are in the south, and most graduates stay there, leaving the North East poorly provided for.

The centre has two other osteopaths and a massage therapist.

Martin Grundy graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2003. For Martin the move to osteopathy represented a career change, after working for 20 years in the metals industry. He has experience working with elite rowers and his particular interest is working with shoulder problems and treating pregnant mothers and elderly people.

Sheena Robertson, BSC (Hons) Ost qualified in 1999 from the British School of Osteopathy, London. Sheena has taught at the British School of Osteopathy and also worked at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in Harley Street. She has special interests in treating pain in pregnancy and in osteopathy for children.

Sheena is a native of Whitley Bay, and returned here to her roots in 2003.
